Stop & Shop Launches Limited-Edition Shark-Themed Bag Celebrating Cape Cod’s Most Famous Summertime Residents
Available exclusively at Stop & Shop stores on Cape Cod and the Islands, the bag is free with a purchase of $35 or more. Stop & Shop is also donating $10,000 to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy towards shark research and education.
(July 1, 2025) Chatham, MA - Stop & Shop is launching a limited-edition, super-sized shark-themed bag honoring some of Cape Cod’s most famous summertime residents. The extra-large shopping bag (21 ¾” x 14 ½” x 13 ¾”) is the perfect size to carry grocery hauls for a barbeque or beach day essentials. The bag’s fun illustrated design features landmarks across Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, and playfully pays tribute to the world’s most iconic shark who swam into fame 50 years ago. Starting Monday July 7, the bags will be available exclusively at Stop & Shop stores on Cape Cod and the Islands. The bag is free with a purchase of $35 or more, while supplies last.
The shark-themed bags also feature a QR code that leads to resources from the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC), which offers the most comprehensive publicly available information on white sharks in the Northwest Atlantic. Stop & Shop is donating $10,000 to AWSC towards its work in shark research, education and public safety. From June through October, great white sharks reside on Cape Cod’s shoreline, where there is a large population of seals. AWSC’s Sharktivity app gives beachgoers the most up to date white shark public safety resources.

To celebrate the launch of the bags, Stop & Shop and AWSC are hosting a launch event for the community at the Stop & Shop Harwich location (111 Brewster-Chatham Road) on July 1st from 11 am to 1pm. The Stop & Shop community food truck will distribute free shark-themed snacks and give away a small number of limited-edition bags. Participants can also get some hands-on shark education with 3D Shark Jaw Models, Shark Teeth and other educational resources courtesy of AWSC.
