Dr. Kara Yopak is a researcher at the University of Western Australia.  Her research focuses on the evolution of neural systems, particularly how brains have diversified within sharks, skates, rays, and chimaerids.  These groups are particularly interesting since they represent some of the earliest forms of brain evolution on the planet.  Follow Dr. Yopak on twitter to learn more.
